Abstract

An example computing system includes: a compute node having a central processing unit, CPU, (12) and a memory (14); a first device (20) connected to the compute node through a peripheral interconnect; a switch (16) of the peripheral interconnect having a first port (225U) coupled to the CPU (12) and a second port (225D1) coupled to the first device (20); and a controller (22) coupled to the switch (16) via an out-of-band interconnect (227) with respect to the peripheral interconnect; the controller (22) configured to send a request to monitor the peripheral interconnect to the switch (16) and to read results of monitoring from the switch (16); and the switch (16) configured to monitor the peripheral interconnect in response to the request and store the results of the monitoring.
