Abstract

The invention relates to an electric switch assembly (1) comprising a first electrode (2), a second electrode (3), a switching member (6) rotationally fixed to the first electrode (2) about a first axis (A), electrically connected with the first electrode (2) and electrically connectable with the second electrode (3), a vacuum interrupter (4) having a static electrode (42) electrically connected with the second electrode (3) and a movable electrode (43) apt to be electrically connected with the static electrode (42) and the switching member (6). In order to improve the electrical properties of the switch assembly having it further comprises a bistable assembly (5) defining a first stable closed position (PC) in which the vacuum interrupter (4) is closed, and a second stable position (PO), wherein said bistable assembly (5) comprises at least one opening member (52) electrically connected and mechanically coupled with the movable electrode (43) and engageable by the switching member (6) during the opening run of the switch assembly (1) to switch said bistable assembly (5) from said first stable closed position (PC) to said second stable position (PO), and at least one closing member (53) mechanically coupled with said at least one opening member (52) and engageable by the switching member (6) during the closing run of the switch assembly (1) to switch said bistable assembly (5) from said second stable position (PO) to said first stable closed position (PC), wherein during the opening run of the switch assembly (1), the open state (SO), in which the switching member (6) is electrically disconnected with the second electrode (3), comprises the following states: a first open state (SO1) in which the switching member (6) engages the opening member (52) and a second open state (SO2) in which the switching member (6) disengages the opening member (52), and during the closing run of the switch assembly (1), the open state (SO) comprises only the second open state (SO2).
