Abstract

A cooling panel for a battery system includes a first sheet, a second sheet, and an additional sheet that overlaps to create a multi-layer sheet. The first sheet, the second sheet, and the additional sheet have hole patterns that partially overlap to create a flow channel through the multi-layer sheet. The fluid flows through the flow channel of the multi-layer sheet that is in contact with a battery module. The fluid absorbs heat from the battery module facilitating a safe operating environment for the battery modules. The first sheet, the second sheet, and the additional sheet are made of nonwoven material that is flexible and porous. The multi-layer sheet can be on one side of the battery cells or surround the battery cells of the battery module of the electric vehicle.
