Abstract

Systems and methods for multi-link power management indication using base-3 compression are disclosed. A multi-link station can include a communication interface and a processor configured to communicate with an access point using a plurality of links. The processor can identify a ternary state of power management for each link of the plurality of links, determine a change in power management state of one or more links, generate, using a ternary encoding, a value for a power management field to identify the change in power management state of the one or more links, and communicate, via the communication interface, a frame comprising the power management field via one link of the plurality of links to the access point. The disclosed techniques enable efficient signaling of power management state transitions for multiple links within a constrained bit field, reducing signaling overhead and supporting scalable multi-link wireless communication.
