Abstract

An automated apparatus and system (100) for document processing and/or package labelling. The system comprises a base (102), a conveyor system (104), a scanner (120), a plurality of applicators (130), and a control system (140) contained in a housing mounted to the base. The control system communicates with an enterprise resource planning system server and is connected to the conveyor system, the sensors, and the applicators. The control system is configured to: receive from the scanner a package ID associated with a package on the conveyor system, determine from the ERP system server document and/or label specifications for the package in accordance with the package ID, and send control instructions to respective applicators in accordance with the determined document and/or label specifications. Each applicator is one of a print and apply label applicator, a document applicator or a document inserter, each configured to activate in response to receiving a respective control instruction from the control system.
