Abstract

The invention relates to a multi-layer paper liner and to a method for producing such multi-layer paper liner. The multi-layer paper liner comprises a top layer consisting of 6 wt.% to 11 wt.% water and 89 wt.% to 94 wt.% first components other than water, said first components other than water comprising 65 wt.% to 97 wt.% bleached virgin cellulose fibre material. The multi-layer paper liner also comprises a support layer consisting of 6 wt. % to 11 wt.% water and 89 wt.% to 94 wt.% second components other than water, said second components other than water comprising 65 wt.% to 97 wt.% unbleached cellulose fibre material. The top layer and the support layer are connected to each other and both the top layer and the support layer comprise surface starch as one of the respective first and second components other than water. In terms of absolute weight of surface starch, the support layer comprises an amount of surface starch that is higher than the amount of surface starch comprised in the top layer.
