Abstract

An image forming apparatus comprises a conveying guide facing to a lower surface of a sheet fed from an opening on a main body housing, a supporting section being changed into a first state of the conveying guide supported at a predetermined position and a second state of the conveying guide lowered from the predetermined position, a sheet feed cartridge being provided below the conveying guide and being insertable/removable to the main body housing, an operation section being exposed when at least a part of the sheet feed cartridge is pulled out and receiving operation for changing the supporting section from the first state to the second state, a cover being provided openably/closably on the opening, and an engaging section being engaged with the operation section in the first state when the cover is closed, but being not engaged with the operation section when the cover is opened.
