Abstract

In order to allow acquisition of machine data (MD) in a more flexible and easier way, it is provided, that the data interface (4-n) of a data source unit (2-n) collecting machine data (MD) is arranged for configuration of the selection of which machine data (MD) is collected in the data source unit (2-n) from the machine (6) and/or of the machine data collection rate (CR) of the machine data (MD) collected in the data source unit (2-n) during the machine operation.
