Abstract

Methods and systems for operating a Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) video camera include storing preset positions and associated parameters. The parameters include Pan, Tilt, Zoom settings and video processing parameters for each preset position. When activated, the PTZ camera orients to achieve a Field-Of-View corresponding to a preset position's settings. The camera captures and processes video using position-specific video processing parameters, creating processed video streams stored in a Video Management System. The video processing parameters may include resolution, frame rate, bit rate, quality, compression, encoding and analytics settings. The system can display multiple processed video streams concurrently and switch between preset positions based on analytics results. The system also supports audio output selection and video retention policies for each preset position.
