Abstract

Device and method of operation for the partial application of an anti-slip liquid composition to a wrap-around vamp so as to form a sole, wherein the device comprises: a container for receiving the anti-slip liquid composition; a support for receiving in a sliding manner one or more footwear lasts in order to support the wrap-around vamp, wherein the support is vertically displaceable between a raised resting position and a lowered position of immersion in the container; and an actuator for vertically displacing said support. A preferred embodiment comprises a proximity sensor and wherein the device is configured to reduce the downward linear movement of the support when the proximity sensor indicates that said support is displacing from an intermediate position, between the raised resting position and the lowered immersion position, to the lowered immersion position.
