Abstract

An example of an information processing system includes a communication terminal apparatus communicable with a server, and a first external storage medium detachably attached to the communication terminal apparatus. The communication terminal apparatus includes at least one memory, a slot that detachably receives a first external storage medium, and at least one processor that determines whether the first storage medium is attached. The communication terminal apparatus: receives the first data from the first external storage medium attached to the slot; acquires, from the server, the first application corresponding to the first data and stores the first application in the memory, in response to determining that the first external storage medium is attached to the slot; and executes the first application stored in the memory, in response to determining that the first external storage medium is attached to the slot.
