Abstract

A wheel key cap (12) may include an elongated cap body (18) defining a channel (20) extending along a longitudinal axis, the channel (20) defining a channel surface. The wheel key cap (12) may further include a low thermal conductivity layer (16) over at least a portion of the channel surface. The elongated cap body (18) may be configured to receive a key boss (14) in the channel (20) such that the low thermal conductivity layer (16) is between at least a portion of the wheel key cap (12) and the key boss (14). The low thermal conductivity layer (16) may have a thermal conductivity less than about 10 W·m<-1>·K<-1>. A wheel assembly (10) may include a wheel defining a key boss (14), and the wheel key cap (12) receiving the key boss (14). The low thermal conductivity layer (16) may include a coating or a liner.
