Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for CO<2> storage, comprising: - flowing CO<2> in a liquid phase from a storage tank into a subsea heating unit, wherein the temperature of the CO<2> upon entering the subsea heating unit is equal to the temperature of the CO<2> in the storage tank ± 10°C; - flowing the CO<2> through the subsea heating unit, wherein the CO<2> in the subsea heating unit stays entirely in the liquid phase, wherein the CO<2> is heated by the surrounding seawater while it flows through the subsea heating unit; and - collecting heated liquid CO<2> from the subsea heating unit and injecting the heated liquid CO<2> into a subsea subterranean formation.
