Abstract

The invention relates to a method for cleaning an air duct of a ventilation system, comprising the steps of placing a brush having a length L, measured along a longitudinal direction of the air duct, in the air duct having a height H, wherein the brush has a circular cross-section with a radius r that is at least 2.5% greater than one half of the height H, moving the brush through the air duct at a linear displacement speed V which, in m/s, is less than or equal to the length L of the brush in metres, divided by 1 second, wherein the brush rotates at a rotational speed R which, in revolutions per minute, is less than or equal to one half of the height H in mm, and removing the brush from the air duct. The invention also relates to a use of a brush for performing the method.
