Abstract

An image forming apparatus includes a mover that moves a transfer medium; a basic-color image forming section that is an image forming section that forms an image by using toner of one or more colors selected from four colors including yellow, magenta, cyan, and black, the image being transferred to the transfer medium; and plural additional-color image forming sections, each of which forms an image by using toner of an additional color other than the four colors, the image being transferred to the transfer medium, in which the plural additional-color image forming sections include an upstream additional-color image forming section and a downstream additional-color image forming section located downstream of the upstream additional-color image forming section in a movement direction in which the transfer medium is moved, and in which the toner of the additional color used in the downstream additional-color image forming section has a charge amount greater than a charge amount of the toner of the additional color used in the upstream additional-color image forming section.
