Abstract

An electronic device includes an on/off unit, a buffer and a switch. The on/off unit is electrically connected to a controller, the buffer is electrically connected to the on/off unit, and the switch is electrically connected to the buffer and the controller. When the buffer is electrically connected to a docking station, the switch transmits a detection voltage to the controller, and the controller enables the buffer to turn on a power supply of the docking station through the on/off unit based on the detection voltage. With the electronic device, which is compatible with the existing docking station, the driving capability can be enhanced more effectively to normally turn on the power supply of the docking station.
