Abstract

This application provides a winding device and a winding method, pertaining to the field of battery technologies. The winding device includes a feeding mechanism and a winding needle, the feeding mechanism being configured to convey an electrode plate and a separator; and the winding needle being configured to wind the electrode plate and the separator conveyed by the feeding mechanism to form an electrode assembly, where a relationship between a diameter r of the winding needle and a diameter R of the electrode assembly after winding is completed satisfies R r > 10 <img class="EMIRef" id="9a12b526-c84e-471c-aea7-56f2e4c447ab-ia01" /> .
