Abstract
Luminaire configured to be supplied with a DC voltage, emit light in a normal operation state when the DC voltage is greater than a voltage threshold, and reduce its electrical energy consumption compared to its electrical energy consumption in the normal operation state when the DC voltage is equal to or smaller than the voltage threshold. Control unit for controlling an electrical energy consumption of luminaires supplied from a DC grid. The control unit is configured to control operation of the luminaires such that they are allowed to emit light in a normal operation state when the DC voltage of the DC grid is greater than a voltage threshold, and an electrical energy consumption of the luminaires is reduced compared with an electrical energy consumption of the luminaires in the normal operation state when the DC voltage of the DC grid is equal to or smaller than the voltage threshold.
