Abstract

Problem To provide an unloading device and an unloading method that are capable of unloading catalyst or other solid, which is difficult to unload, from the interior of a tube body even when a relatively large striking force is applied to the catalyst or other solid. Solution An unloading device 10 includes a gas supply pipe 20 including a nozzle 21 and a tube 22, a gripping portion 30 capable of gripping and releasing the tube 22, and an inching drive portion 102 configured to insert the nozzle 21 into a tube body 510 by moving the gripping portion 30 gripping the tube 22 forward in a direction toward the tube body. The unloading device 10 further includes a fixed guide portion 50 located closer to the tube body than the gripping portion 30 and covering the tube 22, and a movable guide portion 60 extending from the gripping portion 30 toward the fixed guide portion 50 and configured to move toward the fixed guide portion 50 together with the forward movement of the gripping portion 30, while holding the tube 22.
