Abstract

A superconducting magnet according to an embodiment includes a superconducting coil, a persistent current switch or a first switch, at least one of an external power supply and a load, a current lead, a second switch, and a control apparatus. The second switch is configured to include a first state and a second state, wherein the first state is a state in which the superconducting coil and the any one of the external power supply, the load, or both the external power supply and the load are electrically connected to each other, and the second state is a state in which electrical connection between the superconducting coil and the any one of the external power supply, the load, or both the external power supply and the load is cut off. The control apparatus is configured to switch the second switch between the first state and the second state.
