Abstract
A contact assembly for circuit interrupters, which comprises first and second contact members positioned facing each other along a longitudinal axis and movable relative to each other along said longitudinal axis between an open position and a closed position. Said contact assembly comprises a carved shield member formed by a hollow piece of conductive material positioned coaxially relative to said second contact members along said longitudinal axis and spaced apart from said first and second contact members.
