Abstract

A secondary battery module includes: a cell stack including a plurality of battery cells linearly arranged with respect to each other; a module main body including a variable housing accommodating the battery cells, the variable housing having an adjustable length in an arrangement direction of the battery cells, the variable housing supporting the battery cells such that the battery cells are in close contact with each other; a pressure sensor configured to detect a change in pressure of the battery cells applied to the variable housing; a controller configured to output a control signal based on the pressure information received from the pressure sensor; and a housing length adjuster operated by the controller to adjust the length of the variable housing.
