Abstract

A charge control device (7) includes: an AC generator (14); an inverter (15) which can as well act as a rectifier and converts electric power; a first battery (25) connected to the rectifier and charged by the electric power; a capacitor (16) connected in parallel with the first battery to the rectifier and charged by the electric power; a DC-DC converter (18) that converts voltage output from the rectifier from DC to DC; a first switch (19) that switches between connection and disconnection between the inverter and the capacitor; and a control unit (21) configured to: connect the inverter and the capacitor by controlling the first switch when output voltage of the inverter when acting as a rectifier is greater than the voltage of the capacitor during a power generating operation of the AC generator; and disconnect the inverter and the capacitor by controlling the first switch when the inverter and the capacitor are connected and the capacitor is discharging during a power generating operation of the AC generator.
