Abstract

Described are methods for the manufacture of a article, in particular a particle foam article for sports apparel, an article manufactured with such a method, for example a midsole or a part of a shoe, and a shoe with such a midsole. According to an aspect of the invention, a method for the manufacture of an article, in particular a cushioning article for sports apparel, is provided which includes placing one or more elements into a mold between a first portion and a second portion of the mold, closing a securing component of the mold, where the securing component, mold portions, and/or element(s) define a cavity, loading particles into the cavity on one or more sides of the element(s), moving the first portion and the second portion of the mold into a closed position, and fusing the particles.
