Abstract

A bed 1 has a bed frame 3 on which a mattress 5 is present. A mattress cover 7 is present around the mattress. The mattress cover 7 has been applied using mattress cover application aids 9. These are located at the corners of the mattress between side surfaces 5A of mattress 5 and the mattress cover 7. The mattress cover application aid 9 is present exclusively at the side surfaces 5A of mattress 5 and has no parts located under the mattress. The mattress cover 7 is fitted with an elastic band 13 along the edge, which holds the mattress cover 7 behind a carrying edge present in the mattress cover application aid 9. By using these mattress cover application aids, a mattress cover can be applied to a mattress without having to lift the mattress by a corner.
