Abstract

The disclosure relates to a backdoor assembly (12, 30, 80) for opening or closing a back opening (11) of a vehicle (10). The backdoor assembly (12, 30, 80) comprises a first metal panel (21, 61) comprising a window opening (14, 22b, 62c). The backdoor assembly (12, 30, 80) further comprises a second metal panel (26, 68). Further, the backdoor assembly (12, 30, 80) comprises an at least partially transparent window panel (25, 81). The window panel (25, 81) is fastened directly to a first portion (21a, 61a) of a surface of the first metal panel (21, 61) and covers the window opening (14, 22b, 62c). The second metal panel (26, 68) is arranged on a second portion (21b, 68b), different from the first portion (21a, 61a), of the surface of the first metal panel (21, 61). Further, the surface of the first metal panel (21, 61) is orientable towards an exterior of the vehicle (10). The disclosure further relates to a method.
