Abstract

To provide a controller for a work machine such as wheel loaders equipped with articulated steering mechanisms, which can stably travel even on slopes. A controller for a work machine that plans a target route, which is a travel route to a target position, and automatically travels following the planned target route. The controller includes a route planning section 120 that plans the target route based on the current position of the work machine and the target position, and the route planning section 120 modifies the target route based on the travel-surface gradient on the target route.
