Abstract

Scanning sensor assemblies and method of use. A scanning sensor assembly configured for scanning a sheet material includes a measurement head, a drive belt fixedly coupled the measurement head, a motor coupled to the drive belt, the motor controlling position of the measurement head using the drive belt, an electronics cabinet, and a cable coupling the electronics cabinet to the measurement head. The assembly also includes a moving bearing surface adapted to move with the measurement head, wherein the cable rests against the moving bearing surface, thereby preventing abrasion damage to the cable.
