Abstract
The present disclosure relates to a battery diagnosis apparatus and a method for diagnosing a battery cell in which a micro internal short circuit has occurred during a cell balancing inactive period. A battery diagnosis apparatus according to one embodiment of the present disclosure may include a battery cell determination unit configured to determine, based on voltage variations of a plurality of battery cells, at least some of the plurality of battery cells as diagnostic reference cells for detecting a micro internal short circuit, and a battery cell diagnosis unit configured to diagnose a micro internal short circuit in each of the plurality of battery cells based on voltage variations of the diagnostic reference cells.
