Abstract

A display assembly that includes a display projector assembly configured to provide visual information to a waveguide along a projection axis aligned with a display window of the waveguide is disclosed. The display assembly includes a lens coupled to the display projector assembly, where the lens is configured to dampen vibrations from the display projector assembly to the waveguide. The lens has a first material having a first shape with a first toughness, and the first shape of the lens exposes the display window of the waveguide to the display projector assembly. The waveguide is coupled to the lens and comprises a second material having a second shape with a second toughness, where the waveguide is configured to output the visual information. The first material has a greater toughness or greater thickness than the second material. A gap separates the display projector assembly from the waveguide along the projection axis.
