Abstract

The present disclosure provides a computer-implemented method for risk-based software licensing. The method includes receiving a license request from an application, collecting context information related to the license request, assessing trustworthiness of context data providers, performing a risk assessment (108) based on the collected context information and trust assessment, determining whether to grant the license (110) based on the risk assessment, generating and tuning license content (112) if the license is granted or generating a license denial response (114) if the license is not granted, encoding and signing (116) the adjusted license content or denial response, and returning the response (118) to the requesting application (315). The context information includes device information, application configuration data, and environment information.
