Abstract

A system, comprises at least one processor configured to: receive, into a large language model, a natural language description of a new object type not yet included in a previously trained object detection model for detecting objects in images; generate, based on the natural language description of the new object type and using at least one image generating generative artificial intelligence model, an image dataset including visual examples of the new object type; perform additional training of the previously trained object detection model using the image dataset including the visual examples of the new object type to fine-tune the previously trained object detection model to generate a fine-tuned object detection model capable of detecting the new object type in the images; and provide the fine-tuned object detection model to systems for use in detecting the new object type in newly acquired images.
