Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a battery pack, and the technical problem is to prevent thermal runaway from spreading to adjacent battery cells or blocking a vent path and/or a pack vent in the event of thermal runaway in the battery cell. The battery pack according to embodiments includes a housing having a pack vent, a plurality of battery cells accommodated within the housing and arranged side by side such that cell vents thereof are directed in the same direction, a vent path communicating with the pack vent and the cell vent of each of the plurality of battery cells as an empty space between the plurality of battery cells and the housing, and a cooling member including a pipe disposed in contact with the plurality of battery cells and the vent path within the housing and formed of a material that is melted by gas discharged from the cell vent.
