Abstract

There is provided a socket assembly (20) for a hearing device plug connector system (10), comprising a socket body (30) having an outer surface (31) and a cavity (32) with a front opening (33) for receiving a plug assembly (50) of the plug connector system (10) along a longitudinal axis (A3); and a spring element (40) having a first coupling portion (42C, 44C) for attaching the spring element (40) to the socket body (30) by engagement with a retention structure (34A, 34B) of the outer surface (31) of the socket body (30) and having a second coupling portion (46) that is configured to retain the plug assembly (50) at the socket body (30) in a releasable manner and that is spaced apart from the first coupling portion (42C, 44C) along the longitudinal axis (A3). The spring element (40) comprises a first U-shaped portion (42), a second U-shaped portion (44) provided opposite to and facing the first portion (42) and the second coupling portion (46) which connects ends (47A, 47B) of the first U-shaped portion (42) and ends (49A, 49B) of the second U-shaped portion (44), wherein the first portion (42) and the second portion (44) are angled towards each other relative to the second coupling portion (46) in a U-type fashion. The first coupling portion is formed by a transverse arm (42C, 44C) of the first and second U-shaped portion, which engages with the retention structure (34A, 34B) of the outer surface (31) of the socket body (30) via elastic retention forces of the spring element (40) acting along a first axis (A1) extending perpendicular to the longitudinal axis (A3) and the transverse arms (42C, 44C). The second coupling portion comprises two further transverse arms (46A, 46B) that are configured to engage with the retention structure (51A, 51B) of the plug assembly (50) via elastic retention forces of the spring element (40) acting along a second axis (A2) extending perpendicular to the longitudinal axis (A3) and to the first axis (A1).
