Abstract

The present description relates to a photonic chip (100) comprising at least one waveguide (102) disposed on a support (104), the waveguide comprising at least one interface element (112) extending between a first end (114) and a second end (116) forming an optical coupling outer surface (118) belonging to a same plane as a side face (120) of the photonic chip or to a plane parallel to the side face, and wherein the second end comprises:- a thickness, perpendicular to an upper face (122) of the support on which the waveguide is disposed, which is less than a thickness of the first end, and/or- a width, parallel to the optical coupling outer surface and perpendicular to the thickness of the second end, which is greater than a width of the first end.
