Abstract

Provided is a method of producing reducing gas containing carbon monoxide from feed gas containing carbon dioxide and a sulfur compound. The feed gas consists of one or more by-product gases selected from the group consisting of blast furnace gas, hot stove exhaust gas, coke oven exhaust gas, heating furnace exhaust gas, annealing furnace exhaust gas, and power generation apparatus exhaust gas. The method includes a dry desulfurization process of removing the sulfur compound from the feed gas to obtain purified gas and an electrolysis process of electrolyzing the purified gas using a solid oxide electrolyzer cell to obtain the reducing gas.
