Abstract

Disclosed is a method for operating a heating device in an electric vehicle, said heating device comprising a high side transistor switch (HSS) arranged between a positive terminal (HV+) connected to a voltage source of the vehicle and a branching point (B), said branching point (B) connecting a first branch, which comprises a heating resistor (R) and a low side transistor switch (LSS), and a second branch comprising a capacitor (C). Before heating is started, the capacitor (C) is charged gradually by keeping the low side transistor (LSS) open and controlling the high side transistor (HSS) to create pulses during which the capacitor (C) is electrically connected to the voltage source of the vehicle. Also disclosed is a heating device.
