Aspects and embodiments described may provide a method of counteracting misalignment caused by movement of at least one node (20, 40) supporting a communication link in a point to point communication network, a computer program product and network node operable to perform that method. The method comprises: providing a substantially planar antenna array (200; 500) comprising a plurality of radiating elements (210; 510); arranging the radiating elements (210; 510) to be spaced apart in accordance with a pre-selected centre signal feed wavelength; arranging a signal feed line to feed a signal to the radiating elements (210; 510) such that, at said pre-selected wavelength, the antenna array beam direction is perpendicular to a surface of the substantially planar antenna array (200; 500); receiving an indication that misalignment caused by movement of at least one node (20, 40) supporting the communication link in a point to point communication network is occurring; and adjusting the centre signal feed wavelength in dependence upon said indication to steer the antenna array beam direction to counteract the movement of the at least one node (20, 40) supporting the communication link. Aspects recognise that it may be desirable to provide a point to point communication system with a mechanism which can operate to adjust a beam direction, at least at one end of a radio link, in a manner which allows for counteraction of normal occurrences of changes of antenna orientation. In other words, a mechanism which can counteract changes of antenna orientation with appropriate changes of beam direction. Such a mechanism may operate such that counteraction can occur in real time. |

Aspects and embodiments provide a method of allocating cell identifiers to a plurality of cells operating in a wireless communications network; a computer program product and a network control node operable to perform that method. The method of allocating cell identifiers to a plurality of cells operating in a wireless communications network in which the plurality of cells are arranged to comprise at least one region of overlapping radio coverage, comprises: selecting an identifier interpretation scheme to be implemented by a control node within said wireless telecommunication network, the identifier interpretation scheme comprising a scheme according to which said control node is operable to distinguish between at least two distinct portions of a cell identifier; allocating an identifier to at least two cells within the wireless telecommunication network and instructing each of the at least two of the plurality of cells to transmit a portion of the identifier in accordance with the selected identifier interpretation scheme to be implemented by the control node. Methods described may substantially simplify performance of cell identification techniques by increasing the number of implicit identifiers available for cell identification whilst keeping low the number of associated measurements. |

A method of controlling access by an application to data or a service supported by a computing system, a computer program product and access control unit configured to perform that method. The method comprises: identifying a request from an application for access to data or a service supported by the system; determining whether access has been restricted to the data or service; and, if so, indicating to the application that the request for access has been granted by the system and emulating the data or service when the data or service is accessed by the application. Aspects and embodiments provide an extended access-control model for systems including mobile and cloud applications, in which individual permissions can be "seemingly granted" in addition to being directly granted or denied. As a result, an OS or run-time environment may be operable to let users specify that the OS should behave as if permissions requested by an application have been granted, but operate such that data or a service available normally as a result of those permissions remains inaccessible to a requesting application. |
