The present disclosure relates to a heavy phase liquid discharge element, a centrifugal separator comprising the element and to a method of separating two liquid phases. The heavy phase liquid discharge element (200) comprises at least one inlet opening (211; 212) on a first side (210) of the heavy phase liquid discharge element, the at least one inlet opening being adapted to face an interior of the centrifugal separator, and at least two separate outlet channels (271; 272) defining an outlet on the second side (220) of the heavy phase liquid discharge element, wherein at least a portion of each of the outlet channels overlaps with the at least one inlet opening, thereby forming a liquid pathway between the at least one inlet opening and the outlet defined by the at least two outlet channels through which the liquid can pass. By this design, pressure losses in the heavy phase liquid outlets can be decreased. |

A centrifugal separator is configured for processing a product by separating a relatively heavy component and a relatively light component therefrom. The centrifugal separator comprises a spindle (3) supported by a stationary frame (2). A drive unit (4) acts on a rotating member (5) mounted on the spindle to rotate the spindle. A centrifuge rotor (8) mounted to the spindle encloses a separation space (9). An upper bearing housing (20) is mounted to the stationary frame and supports bearings (22, 23) comprising an outer bearing ring (24) attached to the upper bearing housing and an inner bearing ring (25) attached to the spindle. The upper bearing housing is mounted to the stationary frame (2) via an elastic member (40) permitting the upper bearing housing and the spindle to move radially, and via an upper tilting member (41) permitting the spindle to tilt during operation of the centrifugal separator. |

The present invention provides a centrifugal separator bowl (1) comprising a rotor casing (2) enclosing a separation space (17) in which a stack (19) of frustoconical separation discs is arranged to rotate around a vertical axis (X) of rotation, wherein the separation discs are arranged with the imaginary apex pointing to the axially lower end (5) of the rotor casing (2); a feed inlet (20) at the axially lower end (5) for receiving the fluid mixture to be separated; a distributor (24) for distributing the fluid mixture from the inlet (20) to the separation space (17), said distributor (24) being arranged for guiding the fluid mixture to be separated continuously from an axially lower position at the inlet (20) to an axially upper position in the separation space (17). The separator bowl further comprises a light phase outlet (21) for discharge of a separated phase of a first density and a heavy phase outlet (22) for discharge of a separated phase of a second density higher than said first density, said heavy phase outlet (22) being arranged at the axially upper end (6) of the rotor casing (2); at least one outlet conduit (23) for transporting separated phase of the second density from the separation space (17), said conduit (23) extending from a radially outer position of said separation space (17) to said heavy phase outlet (22); said conduit (23) having a conduit inlet (23a) arranged at the radially outer position and a conduit outlet (23b) at a radially inner position. |

The present disclosure provides a centrifugal separator (1) for cleaning gas containing contaminants. The centrifugal separator (1) comprises a stationary casing (2), enclosing a separation space (3) through which a gas flow is permitted, a gas inlet (17) extending through the stationary casing (2) and permitting supply of the gas to be cleaned, a rotating member (7) comprising a plurality of separation members arranged in said separation space (3) and being arranged to rotate around an axis (X) of rotation, a gas outlet (30) configured to permit discharge of cleaned gas and comprising an outlet opening through a wall (6) of the stationary casing (2), a drainage outlet (29) configured to permit discharge of liquid impurities separated from the gas to be cleaned and an electrical motor (23), for rotating the rotating member (7). The centrifugal separator (1) further comprises a control unit (28) which is configured to control the operation of the electrical motor (23) and to drive the electrical motor (23) in at least two different operational modes and to further switch between operational modes depending at least on information of at least one measured internal parameter of the electrical motor (23). |
