The present disclosure relates to a computer system (400) and a method for controlling a transmission (20) of a vehicle, wherein the transmission (20) comprises an output shaft (25) and a set of input shafts (21, 22) comprising at least a first input shaft (21), the transmission being adapted to assume a plurality of transmission configurations, each transmission configuration resulting in a predetermined gear ratio between each input shaft (21, 22) in the set of input shafts and the output shaft (25), and wherein the vehicle comprises a regenerative braking system (30) adapted to convert at least a portion of the vehicle's kinetic energy into electric energy to be fed to an energy storage system (34) of the vehicle during a braking event. The method comprises:- obtaining braking information indicating a required vehicle braking torque for a braking event;- in response to determining that the braking torque deliverable from the regenerative braking system (30) with a currently assumed transmission configuration equals or exceeds the required vehicle braking torque, determining that the currently assumed transmission configuration should be maintained during the braking event and preferably issuing information to the transmission (20) to maintain the currently assumed transmission configuration. |
