A vision system (10) for a motor vehicle comprises a pair of imaging devices (12a, 12b) forming a stereo imaging apparatus (11) and a data processing apparatus (14) adapted to perform rectification of images captured by said stereo imaging apparatus (11), stereo matching of rectified images, and to detect an object in the surrounding of the motor vehicle from stereo matched images, and to detect an object in the surrounding of the motor vehicle from stereo matched images. The data processing device (14) is adapted to perform, for image elements (43) of a rectified image from one imaging device, a search for a best-matching image element (44') in the corresponding rectified image from the other imaging device, said search covering a two-dimensional search area, said search yielding vertical shift information from which a vertical shift from the image element (43) to the best-matching image element (44') is derivable, wherein said data processing device (14) is adapted to calculate a pitch angle error and/or a roll angle error of or between the imaging devices (12a, 12b) from said vertical shift information. |

A driver airbag which applies only small forces to the upper abdominal region of the driver and which provides additional possibilities of adaptivity is described. This driver airbag comprises a front layer pointing towards the driver when the driver airbag is deployed and a back layer pointing towards the steering wheel when the driver airbag is deployed. Front layer and back layer are circumferentially connected to each other by an edge connection and define a chamber (20). Additionally a line-shaped inner connection (25) connecting the front layer and the back layer in a lower area of the driver airbag is provided. This inner connection encircles at least partially a sub-chamber (23) of the chamber (20), such that the chamber (20) comprises a main chamber (22) and this sub-chamber (23). The back layer has at least one ventilation hole which connects the sub-chamber (23) with the environment (Fig. 4). |
