A seat bottom assembly (100) includes a first frame subassembly (102) and a second frame subassembly (104) supported by and rotatably coupled to the first frame subassembly about a rotation axis (120), the second frame subassembly configured to rotate about the rotation axis between a first position and a second position. A fabric diaphragm (106) has a fore end (116a) connected to the second frame subassembly and an aft end (116b) connected to the first frame subassembly. The rotation axis is positioned forward of the connection of the aft end of the fabric diaphragm to the first frame subassembly, such that when the second frame subassembly is in the first position the fabric diaphragm is stretched, and when the second frame subassembly is in the second position the fabric diaphragm is relaxed. In use, the first position may correspond to sitting and the second position may correspond to under seat access.

A wireless charging device and an aircraft monument including the same. The device or monument includes a support surface having a visual indicator embedded therein configured to be illuminated by an underlying charging assembly to indicate a location on the support surface for wirelessly charging a portable electronic device. The wireless charging assembly further includes an induction coil aligned beneath the visual indicator and a fiber optic panel optically coupled to an electrically-powered light source. In use, visible light emitted by the fiber optic panel is transmitted through the visual indicator to illuminate the visual indicator to indicate to a user the location to place the portable electronic device to be charged.

A recline mechanism (300) is described. The recline mechanism provides for adjusting an angle of a seatback of a passenger seat. The recline mechanism prevents angular adjustments of the seatback when a cylinder and piston assembly (116) is in a locked state and permits the angular adjustments when in an unlocked state. A solenoid (118) is provided to lock and unlock a valve of the recline mechanism. The solenoid is engaged and disengaged in response to receiving electrical signals from a button (112). The button generates an electrical signal when the button is depressed and again when the button is released. The button includes an electromagnet or a piezoelectric for generating the electrical signals.

A springless lower closeout system for a passenger seat includes left-side and right-side seat spreaders (112a, 112b) defining a lower aft portion of the passenger seat (102) between them. Each seat spreader includes a restrictive channel (204) extending along the left and right sides of the seat spreader, oriented toward the lower aft portion of the passenger seat. A dress cover (128) extends in a taut state between the left-side and right-side seat spreaders. The dress cover includes cord elements (304) on its left and right edges, the cord elements insertable into the left-side restrictive channels to directly connect the dress cover to the seat spreaders, closing out the lower aft portion of the passenger seat. A zipper or fastener connecting the dress cover and either edge may be partially unfastened to adjust the tension of the dress cover and facilitate attachment or removal of the cord elements to or from the restrictive channels.

A spacing device (100, 200) for separating an electrical cable (440) from an aircraft galley surface (410) which includes an upper portion (110, 210) and a lower portion (120, 220). The upper portion includes a distal end (112, 212) for attaching to the electrical cable, and a proximal end (114, 214) for connecting to the lower portion. The lower portion includes a distal end (122, 222) for attaching to the aircraft galley surface, and a proximal end (124, 224) for connecting to the proximal end of the upper portion. The upper portion and the lower portion are slidably connected to each other to adjust the length of the spacing device between multiple discrete lengths, and further include complementary engaging features (130, 230) arranged to hold the spacing device at a selected length. The complementary engaging features extend along only one side of the upper portion and the lower portion.

Disclosed are methods (100; 300) for quantifying the cleanability of a surface (202; 402) of an article (204; 404), for instance an aircraft interior component. In embodiments, a solution containing an artificial "dirt" is introduced to a surface under test to simulate a sullied condition. The sullied surface is subjected to at least one cleaning process. Obtained reference and post-cleaning light measurements are compared to determine a measurement difference corresponding to a cleanability of the surface and/or effectiveness of the at least one cleaning process. In embodiments, the measurement difference is assigned a cleanability score for at least one of determining a passing or failing cleanability, modifying the cleaning process, indicating the need for a second or subsequent cleaning, modifying the barrier coating formulation, redesigning the article, etc. The disclosed methods provide solutions for objective verification measures of surface cleanability used to facilitate new article designs, materials, barrier coatings, cleaning processes, cleaners, etc.

A system for localizing and object is disclosed herein. The system includes a radio transmitter (310) disposed in a first location, a radio receiver (312) disposed in a second location, a processor operatively coupled to the radio transmitter (310) and to the radio receiver (312), and a memory (512) operatively coupled to the processor. The memory (512) includes instructions stored thereon that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to send a first command to the radio transmitter (310) to transmit a continuous radio wave, send a second command to the radio receiver (312) to receive a reflected radio wave, receive from the radio receiver (312) a signal indicating the reflected radio wave is within a spatial region of interest, and determining a three-dimensional location of the object within the spatial region of interest based on the reflected radio wave.

A passenger cabin layout including a closet and a closet positionable in a cabin such as an aircraft passenger cabin. The closet includes a first compartment (116) for accommodating a wheelchair (118), such as an occupied wheelchair, in an unfolded condition, wherein the first compartment is enterable from an aisle in the cabin, such as a branch aisle extending from a door of the aircraft. The closet further includes a second compartment (130) for storing items. In some embodiments, the first compartment is further enterable from a second branch aisle forward of at least one passenger seat, such as a seat row facing the closet. The first compartment is configured to accommodate a personal wheelchair and in some embodiments includes a floor pallet (126) for securing the wheelchair in place in atop the pallet.
