A cooling fluid valve having an actuator portion (110A) extending outwardly beyond an outer surface of an actuator housing. The cooling fluid valve actuator portion includes a plug (126) force fit into an orifice (118) in a valve housing (104). The plug blocks flow of cooling fluid from a cooling fluid inlet (122) to a cooling fluid outlet (138). The cooling fluid outlet is connected to communicate cooling fluid to the component. The plug is formed of a material having a first coefficient of thermal expansion. A portion of the valve housing includes the orifice receiving the plug being formed of a material having a second coefficient of thermal expansion with the second coefficient of thermal expansion being higher than the first coefficient of thermal expansion, such that when the actuator portion of the valve is exposed to heat, the force fit may be eliminated as the valve housing expands at greater rate than the plug. |

An electric generator has a rotor shaft (30) to be driven to rotate with a generator rotor (28). A generator stator (71) is positioned adjacent the generator rotor (28). A housing (42) surrounds the generator rotor (28) and the generator stator (71). The generator rotor shaft (30) extends outwardly of the housing (42). A seal (46) seals a location where the rotor shaft (30) extends outwardly of the housing (42). A vent valve (54) is configured to vent of the interior of the housing (42) when the rotor shaft (30) is not rotating. An electrical assembly is also disclosed. |

Zusammenfassung
An electromechanical system (20) has a component (42) to be positioned, a rotary permanent magnet motor (24) for positioning the component (42), and sensors (30) for determining an apparent position of the component (42) based upon rotation of the permanent magnets. A control (40) counts movement of the permanent magnets that pass the sensors (30) in a desired direction and also in an undesired direction. The control (40) reaches an actual position of the component (42) based upon both directions of rotation. The control (40) also compares the actual position to an expected position of the component (42) and identifies a need to calibrate should a difference between the actual and expected positions differ by more than a determined amount. A method is also disclosed. |
