A check valve (10) comprises a valve housing (14) defining an opening (16) and a plurality of flapper elements (18) each having a proximal end (26) and a distal end (28), The flapper elements (18) are pivotally mounted to the valve housing (14) at their proximal ends (26) for pivotal movement between a closed position, in which they block the flow of fluid through the opening (16) and an open position in which they permit the flow of fluid through the opening (16). Each flapper element (18) is generally triangular or trapezoidal in shape such that the flapper elements (18) together create a generally conical or frustoconical surface (21) when the valve (10) is in the closed position. A resilient band (36) extending around a circumference of the conical or frustoconical surface (21) defined by the plurality of flapper elements (18) in the closed position for biasing the flapper elements (18) towards the closed position.

A battery thermal management system (100) for an air vehicle includes a first heat exchange circuit (116), a battery in thermal communication with the first heat exchange circuit, and a heat exchanger (112) positioned on the first heat exchange circuit. A phase separator (100) for an electrical machine includes a first end portion (120), a second end portion (140), and a midsection (160). The midsection (160) connects the first end portion (120) to the second end portion (140) such that the first end portion (120) opposes the second end portion (140). The midsection (160) is configured for fixing the phase separator (100) in the electrical machine for separating the adjacent phase windings (32, 34) from one another. The first and second end portions (120, 140) are for separating end turns of adjacent phase windings (32, 34) of an electrical machine.

According to the present disclosure, there is provided a check valve (2) comprising a valve housing (4) defining a pair of valve openings (6). A pair of flapper elements (10) are pivotably mounted to at least one hinge pin (12) for rotation relative to the housing between an open position in which they permit fluid flow through the respective valve openings (6) and a closed position in which they prevent fluid flow through the valve openings (6).
