The aerosol-generating device includes a body, a heater disposed in the body and configured to heat an aerosol-generating substance, at least one sensor configured to output sensing data related to fall of the body, a memory configured to store fall history information of the body, a controller configured to acquire sensing data from the at least one sensor and to determine, based on the acquired sensing data, whether the body falls, and a power supply configured to supply power to at least one of the heater, the controller, the at least one sensor, or the memory. Upon determining that the body has fallen, the controller accumulates and stores the fall history information in the memory. |

The controller determines a temperature increase rate of the heater based on the signal received from the temperature sensor, and upon determining that the temperature increase rate is equal to or higher than a predetermined rate, the controller controls the heater driving circuit to interrupt supply of power to the heater. |
