Zusammenfassung
The invention relates to a method for plugging a formation in a subterranean zone, comprising (i) mixing alkali silicate and colloidal silica particles free of organic silane modification to form a composition; (ii) injecting the composition into the formation in the subterranean zone; and (iii) allowing the composition to be heated to a temperature of at least 40°C to below 90°C for a sufficient time so to form a gel that is impermeable to fluid flow. The invention further relates to the use of a composition comprising alkali silicate and colloidal silica particles free of organic silane modification for plugging a formation in a subterranean zone at a temperature of at least 40°C to below 90°C. |

A paint composition includes water and/or an organic solvent; at least one of a binder or a pigment; and an additive that includes a first polymer and/or a second polymer. The first polymer includes the reaction product of: at least one ethylenically unsaturated monomer and a second reactant chosen from monosaccharides, disaccharides, oligosaccharides, polysaccharides and combinations thereof. The second polymer has the structure (I): <img class="EMIRef" id="00efcf23-e383-4942-9006-b41300876de5-ia01" /> wherein R<1> is a residue from an ethylenically unsaturated monomer, R<1> can be present or absent, and X is H, a cation, or an amine. The sum of the weight percent actives of the first polymer and/or the second polymer is from about 0.1 to about 20 weight percent actives based on a total weight of the paint composition. |
