The center tube (56) extends circumferentially about an axial centerline (34). The center tube (56) extends between and to a first axial tube end (88) and a second axial tube end (90). The forward bulkhead (58) is mounted to the center tube (56) at the first axial tube end (88). The aft bulkhead (60) is mounted to the center tube (56) at the second axial tube end (90). The at least one baffle (64) extends axially from the forward bulkhead (58) to the aft bulkhead (60). At least the forward bulkhead (58), the aft bulkhead (60), or the at least one baffle (64) include one or more thermal beads (112, 142). The outer skin (52) circumscribes the center tube (56), the forward bulkhead (58), the aft bulkhead (60), and the at least one baffle (64) to form an acoustic cavity (66) radially inside the outer skin (52).

A shape forming tool (120) for pre-carbonization compression of a fibrous preform (110) includes a female forming tool (122) comprising a die recess (182), a first die half (126) configured to be received by the die recess, a second die half (128) configured to be received by the die recess, an expander tool coupled between the first die half and the second die half. The expander tool is configured to move the first die half laterally toward a first side of the female forming tool away from the second die half to compress the fibrous preform between the first die half and the female forming tool. The expander tool is further configured to move the second die half laterally toward a second side of the female forming tool away from the first die half to compress the fibrous preform between the second die half and the female forming tool.

The latch assembly includes a first latch portion and a second latch portion. The first latch portion is mounted to the cowl panel (52). The first latch portion includes a pin configured for translation along a pin axis between an extended pin position and a retracted pin position. The second latch portion is mounted to the fixed nacelle portion (48). The second latch portion includes a pin guide. The pin guide is configured to receive and engage the pin with the pin in the extended position and the cowl panel (52) in the closed position.

An end of the preform is pressed into a grip strip (804) coupled to a side of the inner mold line (100). The grip strip (804) is translated in a first direction to tension the preform into a shaped body.

The bearing block (50), nut (52), and spring member (54) are disposed in the forward cavity (70). The latch hook adjustment assembly (38) is disposable in engaged and disengaged configurations.
