The present application relates to zinc-magnesium layered hydroxide nanoparticles as a drug delivery system for the treatment of periodontitis and/or peri-implantitis. The nanoparticles herein described have a layered hydroxide structure, have enhanced cell interaction and uptake, are biodegradable, efficient at drug loading, have an improved, pH-responsive drug release profile, and enhanced biological efficacy. The application also discloses a method to obtain the zinc-magnesium layered hydroxide nanoparticles. |

Zusammenfassung
The present document discloses an optofluidic device for receiving a liquid and measuring a light signal comprising: at least one optical fiber; and a capillary tube for receiving a portion of the at least one optical fiber, and wherein the at least one optical fiber is inserted via a borehole in a wall of the capillary tube. A method of fabrication of the optofluidic device is also disclosed comprising the steps of: generating femtosecond laser pulses; focusing said laser pulses onto a predetermined capillary tube wall depth; controlling the position and intensity of said femtosecond laser pulses to induce a localized pattern on capillary tube wall; placing the capillary tube under wet-etching to create a borehole across the capillary tube wall and in the modified location; arranging the at least one lensed optical fiber in the borehole. Alternatively, a refractive microlens is laser-machined inside the capillary wall of the optofluidic device to focus light from the optical fiber inside the capillary. It is also disclosed a method of measuring light signals from a liquid using the optofluidic device. |

The present invention discloses a process for recovering precious metals from electronic waste comprising the steps of cutting the terminals from the electronic waste involving metallic and non-metallic fractions using a mechanical process, wherein the cut is performed on the connecting terminals of the electronic waste; optionally placing the cut electronic waste connecting terminals in an overnight pre-swelling with stirring in an appropriate organic solvent; performing an organic swelling in a low-pressure reactor with heating and preferentially with stirring; and then separating the gold fingers from the plastic and base metal components using a magnetic separation process followed by sieving. |

This formulation can also be used in cosmetic or pharmaceutical products, be orally, transdermally, intravenously, or topically administered. This disclosure relates to a power generation device for harvesting energy through a fluid-solid triboelectric nanogenerator from a flow of body fluid flowing through or past the power generation device. The power generation device comprises a solid component, on which surface charges are inducible, at least one conductive component is comprised by the solid component or fixed to the solid component, and an output unit for outputting power. The at least one conductive component is electrically connected to the output unit. The solid component is configured to be brought into contact with a body fluid flowing through or past the power generation device by implanting the power generation device within a living organism or by bringing the power generation device into contact with or into proximity of a living organism. |
