A resonance tone generation apparatus 20 is applied to an electronic musical instrument DM having a tone generator for generating a musical tone signal indicative of a piano sound in accordance with a tone generation instruction signal having a key number n, and a plurality of output means adapted for externally outputting a musical tone signal. The resonance tone generation apparatus 20 has a plurality of resonance tone generation circuits 30 (n) each of which is assigned a different key number n, retrieves a musical tone signal indicative of a musical sound of the piano, generates a musical tone signal indicative of a resonance tone imitating a tone of a string of the piano resonated by the musical sound of the piano indicated by the retrieved musical tone signal, and supplies the generated musical tone signal to the plurality of output means. Each of the resonance tone generation circuits 30 (n) has a resonance circuit 40 (n) which has a plurality of resonance frequencies corresponding to the assigned key number n, and generates a musical tone signal indicative of the resonance tone imitating the tone of the string of the piano resonated by the musical sound of the piano indicated by the retrieved musical tone signal, and a panning setting circuit 50 (n) which generates a plurality of musical tone signals which are to be supplied to the plurality of output means, respectively, and each of which indicates a different resonance tone in which a tone volume of the resonance tone indicated by the musical tone signal generated by the resonance circuit 40 (n) is changed in accordance with the assigned key number, and supplies the generated musical tone signals to the plurality of output means, respectively. |

Zusammenfassung
Each of a plurality of channels includes a sample counter adapted to perform counting operation at a given rate. Independently for each channel, a control section (CT) sets the rate and an initial value for the counter of the channel and controls start and stop of the counting operation of the counter, so that a partial portion of an original waveform corresponding to a count range from the set initial value to a count stop point is reproduced in the channel. The control section sets the initial values in individual ones of a set of channels, selected from among the channels, such that sample values at different sample positions of the original waveform are simultaneously retrieved in individual ones of the set of channels, and controls an overlap adder (OLA) to add up the retrieved sample values, so that sample values of an audio waveform signal with a plurality of partial portions of the original waveform, which are to be reproduced in the set of channels, partially overlapping each other are output from the adder. By the overlapping between the plurality of partial portions of the original waveform, a reproduction time length and/or tone pitch can be readily controlled, and formant control can be performed in accordance with the given rate. |
