Seeding system (100; 200), comprising: a hopper (110; 210), for holding a plurality of seeds (30); a seeding drum (120; 220) comprising rows of through-openings and arranged for picking up seeds from the hopper during rotation of the seeding drum relative to the hopper, such that the seeds are held on an outer surface of the drum by a vacuum force exerted on the seeds through the through-openings; a detector for detecting, for a row of through-openings that is arranged in a seed detection area (α4), a number of said through-openings which hold at least one seed; and a row discard mechanism (160; 260) adapted for, upon receipt of a row discard signal, discarding all seeds held on a row of through-openings at a discard area (α6) by providing a positive air pressure at said row of through-openings from an interior side of the drum, and otherwise for holding the seeds at said row by means of vacuum suction, wherein the discard area (α6) is arranged, along the direction of rotation, between the seed pickup area (α1) and a seed depositing area (α8) where the seeds held on the drum may be deposited at locations that are substantially predetermined relative to the hopper; a controller (170; 270), adapted for transmitting the row discard signal to the row discard mechanism (160; 260) depending on the number detected by the detector for said row of through-openings when the row was at the seed detecting area (α4).

Method for a terminal, for reading data from an identity document (10, 20), wherein the identity document comprises an NFC chip which supports the READ BINARY command as defined in ISO/IEC 7816, the method comprising, by the terminal: i) in arbitrary order: - a step (310) comprising determining (312) a type of the identity document out of a plurality of identity document types which each comprise an NFC chip which supports the READ BINARY command, and based on the determined type of the identity document, determining (314) whether the NFC chip of the identity document supports extended length for the READ BINARY command and if so, determining (314), based on the determined type of the identity document, a preferred extended length for an Le field of the READ BINARY command APDU to be transmitted by the terminal to the NFC chip; - a step (320) of carrying out access control with the NFC chip to obtain access to the NFC chip; ii) after step i), if it is determined that the NFC chip supports extended length for the READ BINARY command: a step (330) of reading data from a data group of the NFC-chip, by sending (332) a READ BINARY command APDU to the NFC chip and subsequently receiving (334) a corresponding response APDU, wherein a value of the Le field of the READ BINARY command APDU is based on the preferred extended length and is greater than 256 bytes and less than 65535 bytes.

An offshore gangway and lifting system, comprising: a base frame adapted to be mounted to the deck of a vessel; a mast which is extendable along its longitudinal axis between an extended position and a retracted position; a gangway supported by the mast; actuators adapted for adjusting an orientation of the longitudinal axis of the mast relative to the base frame, each of said actuators being interconnected between the mast and the base frame; sensors for determining an orientation of the longitudinal axis of the mast relative to a horizontal plane and/or for determining an orientation of the base frame relative to the horizontal; a controller for dynamically controlling the actuators, based on the orientation determined by the sensors, to adjust the orientation of the longitudinal axis of the mast to be substantially vertical; wherein the base frame is provided with a bearing having an at least partially spherical circumferential outer surface, wherein the mast is substantially supported by said outer surface in such a manner that the mast and gangway are rotatable in conjunction relative to the base frame and relative to the bearing around a first axis normal to the longitudinal axis of the mast, and around a second axis normal to the longitudinal axis of the mast and normal to the first axis.
